About Step Up

About Step Up for Autism

Step Up for Autism was created thanks to a group of Chautauqua County parents who were frustrated by having to travel outside the local area in order for their children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to access training so that they could learn social skills. Proceeds from Step Up for Autism go to Filling The Gap, Inc. Most of the money raised is directed to The Resource Center’s SUCCESS Program, which stands for “Supporting, Understanding, Changing, Coping, and Everyday Social Skills” and other related programs for Autism.

The 2017 Step Up for Autism walk was extremely successful with many parents, volunteers, over 100+ walkers and additional people from the community joined in during the walk. Over $40,000 has been raised since 2010 through registration, sponsorship, and donations.
